Last week I posted a couple of images of a Hen Weekend that I had the privilege to follow and shoot at Airth Castle Hotel. Patricia (the Mother of the Bride) got in touch with me few weeks ago looking for a photographer to shoot her daughter Georgia’s hen weekend , it was actually Patricia’s husband Andrew who came across my website.
If I’m honest I didn’t really know what I was getting myself into and turned up meeting them all for the first time feeling a bit nervous myself. Patricia ran me through the proceedings for the 2 evenings and then I waited for everyone to arrive for dinner and pictures. I was to capture portraits and relaxed candid shots of the evening, capturing fun and laughter with Georgia opening a big boxed present containing all the usual hen weekend accessories.
On the 2nd evening I setup a white backdrop to have a bit of fun shooting some wacky portraits.
Patricia, I just want to say thanks to you and your husband for going ahead with this and choosing me to cover the weekend and hope you enjoy these images for years to come.
Georgia, It was great to meet you, your family and friends, and I hope you enjoy the images, but I also want to wish you the very best for the future and hope you have an amazing wedding day up in Peterhead. Keep in touch and I look forward to seeing some of your wedding pics! I’ll be thinking of you all on the day!
Enjoy!
Chris

It’s not often I get my picture taken, I’ll avoid it at all costs which isn’t a bad thing as many people I speak to don’t like getting their pics taken and it gives me the ability to be discreet and put people at ease and hopefully make it more fun than an intimidating cring worthy experience for them. So when all the girls asked if I could get my picture taken with them…. well, how could I say no?
anyway onto the better pics…

As a wedding photographer, the majority of my work is recording the couple’s special day, recording them publicly declaring their commitment to each other through their vows and ‘tying the knot’ so to speak. So this was a special assignment for me to record Mary & Tommy Wilson’s Golden Wedding Anniversary after 50 years of marriage they celebrated this at The Gleneagles Hotel in Perthshire with all their friends & family.

This was Mary’s original wedding dress she wore 50 years ago!

Last week I met up with Graham & Julia for their pre wedding Engagement shoot in Edinburgh, Crammond. Gorgous evening, we roamed about Crammond down by the boats is this lovely little area with some ruins and water running beside it. I’ve been trying out some new post processing techniques in some of your images, so I hope you enjoy them! Looking forward to their big day, watch out for their wedding blog!

I’ve been looking forward to blogging this shoot! Lynne contacted me through my website asking if I could get a portrait of her children along with cousins. She wanted a picture of all 5 grand children for the grand parents.
So the shoot was set for a sunday afternoon! It was good fun and (hard work LOL) Typical children, full of life & energy - ideal for stunning kids portraits!
In an ideal world, children will sit and smile straight into the camera, but that doesn’t always happen and in my opinion it’s better when they just run about as you can capture them how they are in real life!
I must admit I was shattered at the end but I knew I had some cracking shots on the card and drove straight home to start editing!
With the amount of life and energy these guys had I knew we probably didn’t get the best images of them altogether so I suggested we do individual shots and design a frame to suit.

Alexander contacted me through the website for family portraits. What I remember about this night which I didn’t tell them was I nearly fell flat on my face outside their house on the pavement, it was so cold the road was like a sheet of ice and my car was registering -4 driving up to Armadale.
Alexander wanted family pictures of his family so we had his Mum and Dad, sister and boy friend and his gran!
After just 10 mins of setting up and discussing a bit about ‘I’m a Celebrity get me out of here…’ we were ready to shoot!
Some brilliant family images, I enjoyed the session, I hope you all did too

This was a shoot for Jacquie Hughes Granddaughter, Ellie. Jacquie is the friend of a bride who has booked me for her wedding in 2009. I went along with my home mobile studio and shot Ellie’s portraits in their front livingroom. When I arrived Jacquie mentioned that Ellie was coming down with something and wasn’t her usual self. Poor Ellie, she was a bit upset and was not her usual self, but boy did we get the cutest images ever!!!
Check these out!

Since I launched the ‘Perfect Portraits’ offer last month I’ve been pretty busy shooting families which is why I’ve not had much chance to update my blog. My mobile studio is working really well and last week I had the opportunity to shoot the Weir family in Falkirk! Below are some of my favorite images….there was a lot to choose from! Over the next few days I’m going to post some of my favorite images from various other portrait shoots I’ve done this past month, I would love to blog them all but there have been so many and I’ve had some fantastic kids
