Ashleigh & Gavin were married at the Lowson Church Forfar with their reception held at The Carnoustie Golf Hotel, Carnoustie. The girls started of at the hair dressers in Forfar Hight Street, before heading back to Ashleigh parents house where they got ready, I popped round to get details of the wedding dress and some of Ashleighs accessories.
At the church I met the guys for some portrait photography and captured nice relaxed natural images of the guests arriving. The Church is stunning inside and I believe it has the longest aisle in Scotland!
Ashleigh & Gavin had a beuatiful red & cream Rolls Royce to take them to Carnoustie Golf Hotel where the reception was held!
Thanks for having me as part of the day and thanks for feeding me! The meal was delicious Carnoustie Golf Hotel did a fantastic job, it’s a beautiful venue and all the staff were so friendly and helpful. Thank you!
As I left, leaving everyone to party on into the night I wandered around the front of the hotel looking out onto the golf course, then sun was starting to lower and I ended the day getting a beautiful shot of the hotel with the sun sparkling off the windows. A Beautiful Day!

Last week I posted a couple of images of a Hen Weekend that I had the privilege to follow and shoot at Airth Castle Hotel. Patricia (the Mother of the Bride) got in touch with me few weeks ago looking for a photographer to shoot her daughter Georgia’s hen weekend , it was actually Patricia’s husband Andrew who came across my website.
If I’m honest I didn’t really know what I was getting myself into and turned up meeting them all for the first time feeling a bit nervous myself. Patricia ran me through the proceedings for the 2 evenings and then I waited for everyone to arrive for dinner and pictures. I was to capture portraits and relaxed candid shots of the evening, capturing fun and laughter with Georgia opening a big boxed present containing all the usual hen weekend accessories.
On the 2nd evening I setup a white backdrop to have a bit of fun shooting some wacky portraits.
Patricia, I just want to say thanks to you and your husband for going ahead with this and choosing me to cover the weekend and hope you enjoy these images for years to come.
Georgia, It was great to meet you, your family and friends, and I hope you enjoy the images, but I also want to wish you the very best for the future and hope you have an amazing wedding day up in Peterhead. Keep in touch and I look forward to seeing some of your wedding pics! I’ll be thinking of you all on the day!
Enjoy!
Chris

It’s not often I get my picture taken, I’ll avoid it at all costs which isn’t a bad thing as many people I speak to don’t like getting their pics taken and it gives me the ability to be discreet and put people at ease and hopefully make it more fun than an intimidating cring worthy experience for them. So when all the girls asked if I could get my picture taken with them…. well, how could I say no?
anyway onto the better pics…

As a wedding photographer, the majority of my work is recording the couple’s special day, recording them publicly declaring their commitment to each other through their vows and ‘tying the knot’ so to speak. So this was a special assignment for me to record Mary & Tommy Wilson’s Golden Wedding Anniversary after 50 years of marriage they celebrated this at The Gleneagles Hotel in Perthshire with all their friends & family.

This was Mary’s original wedding dress she wore 50 years ago!

The Vu at Ballencrieff Reservoir, Bathgate is a stunning and funky wedding venue, located just 10 miles from me. I’m so excited to have a wedding their next month for Stacey & Jamie, it’s going to be a big day for them, not only becuase it’s their wedding day, but they were selected to have their special day featured in Living TV’s Four Weddings TV Show
The Vu is a breath taking venue, set on the waterfront, with stunning panoramic views towards the west over Ballencrieff Reservoir offering so many fantastic photo opportunities. As a wedding photographer artist, not only I will be shooting the days events, but will be staying late to get some lovely shots of the sun coming down over the water with Jamie & Stacey.
This is all I can say about it at the moment, the wedding is just over 6 weeks time and I’m so looking forward to it!
Stay tuned as they say!

Well it’s been a couple of months since my last fabulous wedding in October at the Apex Hotel Edinburgh and a lot has happened since then. I have updated my website, with help from some of my photography friends in the industry (you know who you are thanks x ) I’m part of a world wide professional wedding forum called DWF a brilliant place for all us professional wedding photographers to support each other and some of my friends around the UK (and further) gave me great advice and feedback.
There are 2 blog entries which I hope to post this weekend so watch out for them, a wedding at the end of last year, and my first wedding of 2010 for Emma & Colin. What better way than to start the year by shooting an amazing wedding, for an amazing couple with an amazing family! I met Emma & Colin back end of last year. It was one of those meetings when after I left them after showing them my work, I was really hoping they would book and they did! The venue was at the Stirling Management Centre http://www.smc.stir.ac.uk/content/ but before hand we went to Stirling Castle for some photography. It was a tad chilly, but was well worth it!
So i’m off to carry on processing Emma & Colins wedding ready to post some images, oh and I have some lovely Black & White images of my children to post up aswell, shot just as the leaves were falling off the trees, it was a job to do over Christmas and I’m really pleased with them! I love my kids and family, they have been so supportive of me this year helping me with weddings and orders, and sorting and posting. So Special thanks to Harrison, Carla & Justin and to my lovely (long suffering wife) Louise. Thanks guys!
Chris x
Ps, My new 2010 & 2011 Falkirk Photography Wedding pricelist has been released, http://www.thewonderofyouphotography.co.uk/contact/contact.php and enter you details and I will email you it back, and we can make arrangements to view a sample album and discuss you special day!

Even though I’m a scottish based photographer, that doesn’t stop me travelling around the country to shoot amazing weddings like Nicola & Stephen’s in Northampton.
Nicola & Stephen, booked me last year and after organising how the day was to unfold I knew this would be special. I didn’t realise until the day that the Owl in the falconry display is actually owned by Nicola’s father. She’s a beautiful owl and had such a personality and wasn’t too impressed when the Golden Eagle arrived!
Nicola & Stephen, I was really honoured to be part of your day, you were so much fun to photograph, the venue was amazing and I hope you both LOVE your images. Below is just a preview of the day, some of my favourites. Enjoy and I’ll see you soon!

Another personal post! I wanted to introduce you to the newest member of our family! A Jack Russell….and for those of you who really know me, you will know that I’m not an animal lover, let alone a dog fan! But it looks like he is here to stay, but on the condition he is brought up to not bark at everything that moves, or nip ankles!
Oh….and we’re still not 100% on a name. I’m liking Eddie, Louise my wife is liking Cooper, and the kids are liking Enzo….. have you got any other suggestions? Feel free to drop me an email or comment below!
