Karen & Martin were married in an out door ceremony with family at the Roman Camp Hotel Callander. I started of getting portraits of Martin and his boys before checking on Karen and getting some bridal preparations shots in their hotel room. After the ceremony we went into another area of the grounds for Family Group photography. Roman Camp is situated in 20 acres of gardens on the banks of the River Teith so it’s a photographers dream to take a newly wedded bride & groom around it for beautiful photography. Karen & Martin were so much fun, we had quite a good laugh wandering around the gardens before they went for their family meal!

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of shooting at The Vu at Ballencrief Toll, Bathgate for Jamie & Stacey’s wedding! Unfortunately it was the wettest day I think we have had so far this year, rained from 11am right to the very end when I left at 11pm, but that didn’t stop Jamie & Stacey and family having a really great wedding day. The Vu is set in the middle of Ballencrief Reservoir in West Lothian, with the long glass windows it does look like your on the water with stunning views all around. Even with the heavy rain we still managed to capture great moments and with so many nice areas inside The Vu we were still spoilt for choice in getting some lovely images of Stacey & Jamie.
Thanks guys for an excellent day, wish you both the very best!

David & Joanne were married in the absolutely STUNNING Dunfermline Abbey, with their reception held at Orocco Pier . I started off at Joanne’s home in Dunfermline for bridal preparation shots before heading to the Abbey to meet the guys and little Joseph arriving. Weather wise it was forecasted for very wet weather, which wasn’t going to be good as I really wanted to do a lot of the photography down on the beach. Thankfully it rained only for about 2 mins (which unfortuntely for me was the 2 walk I needed to go from the Abbey across to the vintage bus to get some pics of it). The weather held for us and we got some great shots on the beach with the Forth Rail Bridge in the background.
Did you know that the Forth Rail Bridge is regarded as the 8th Wonder of the World? A guest told me that while we stood looking at it! Beautiful structure!
David & Joanne, thank you so much for choosing me as your photographer, everyone made me feel so welcome, enjoy the highlights of your wedding!

Ashleigh & Gavin were married at the Lowson Church Forfar with their reception held at The Carnoustie Golf Hotel, Carnoustie. The girls started of at the hair dressers in Forfar Hight Street, before heading back to Ashleigh parents house where they got ready, I popped round to get details of the wedding dress and some of Ashleighs accessories.
At the church I met the guys for some portrait photography and captured nice relaxed natural images of the guests arriving. The Church is stunning inside and I believe it has the longest aisle in Scotland!
Ashleigh & Gavin had a beuatiful red & cream Rolls Royce to take them to Carnoustie Golf Hotel where the reception was held!
Thanks for having me as part of the day and thanks for feeding me! The meal was delicious Carnoustie Golf Hotel did a fantastic job, it’s a beautiful venue and all the staff were so friendly and helpful. Thank you!
As I left, leaving everyone to party on into the night I wandered around the front of the hotel looking out onto the golf course, then sun was starting to lower and I ended the day getting a beautiful shot of the hotel with the sun sparkling off the windows. A Beautiful Day!

Last week I posted a couple of images of a Hen Weekend that I had the privilege to follow and shoot at Airth Castle Hotel. Patricia (the Mother of the Bride) got in touch with me few weeks ago looking for a photographer to shoot her daughter Georgia’s hen weekend , it was actually Patricia’s husband Andrew who came across my website.
If I’m honest I didn’t really know what I was getting myself into and turned up meeting them all for the first time feeling a bit nervous myself. Patricia ran me through the proceedings for the 2 evenings and then I waited for everyone to arrive for dinner and pictures. I was to capture portraits and relaxed candid shots of the evening, capturing fun and laughter with Georgia opening a big boxed present containing all the usual hen weekend accessories.
On the 2nd evening I setup a white backdrop to have a bit of fun shooting some wacky portraits.
Patricia, I just want to say thanks to you and your husband for going ahead with this and choosing me to cover the weekend and hope you enjoy these images for years to come.
Georgia, It was great to meet you, your family and friends, and I hope you enjoy the images, but I also want to wish you the very best for the future and hope you have an amazing wedding day up in Peterhead. Keep in touch and I look forward to seeing some of your wedding pics! I’ll be thinking of you all on the day!
Enjoy!
Chris

It’s not often I get my picture taken, I’ll avoid it at all costs which isn’t a bad thing as many people I speak to don’t like getting their pics taken and it gives me the ability to be discreet and put people at ease and hopefully make it more fun than an intimidating cring worthy experience for them. So when all the girls asked if I could get my picture taken with them…. well, how could I say no?
anyway onto the better pics…

As a wedding photographer, the majority of my work is recording the couple’s special day, recording them publicly declaring their commitment to each other through their vows and ‘tying the knot’ so to speak. So this was a special assignment for me to record Mary & Tommy Wilson’s Golden Wedding Anniversary after 50 years of marriage they celebrated this at The Gleneagles Hotel in Perthshire with all their friends & family.

This was Mary’s original wedding dress she wore 50 years ago!

Congratulations to Matthew & Jennifer who were married in Edinburgh at The Edinburgh Corn Exchange, a stunning venue, very cool and modern on the inside with beautiful stone pillars at the front.
Matthew & Jennifer had a Humansist ceremony conducted by Ivor, who had such fantastic sense of humor, this actually summed up the whole day as everywhere I looked there was laughter and joy, making it great fun to photograph.
Weather wise, it rained when it didn’t matter and stopped when it did matter so we had plenty time for a lot of family formal photography outside in the garden.
Matthew & Jennifer thank you so much for having me to photograph your special day, it was such a privilege and I hope you love your images for years to come. I can’t wait to finish and show you your album design.

The Vu at Ballencrieff Reservoir, Bathgate is a stunning and funky wedding venue, located just 10 miles from me. I’m so excited to have a wedding their next month for Stacey & Jamie, it’s going to be a big day for them, not only becuase it’s their wedding day, but they were selected to have their special day featured in Living TV’s Four Weddings TV Show
The Vu is a breath taking venue, set on the waterfront, with stunning panoramic views towards the west over Ballencrieff Reservoir offering so many fantastic photo opportunities. As a wedding photographer artist, not only I will be shooting the days events, but will be staying late to get some lovely shots of the sun coming down over the water with Jamie & Stacey.
This is all I can say about it at the moment, the wedding is just over 6 weeks time and I’m so looking forward to it!
Stay tuned as they say!
